integrity

In the design and construction world, things can look really clean on the surface level, but if you go a little below, It can sometimes be pretty dirty. Over the years, I have had people came to me hurt, frustrated, and frankly exhausted. They had trusted design professionals who overpromised and underdelivered. Who designed for ego, not empathy. Who prioritized profit over people. Who wanted to put their mark on the project and use it as a means to express themselves and their creativity.

All of those issues are wrong on so many levels. I’m certainly not thinking about how your project will look in photos. I don’t need photos, I’m seeing it already in my mind. I’m honing out the details and relationships in context, I’m thinking about how people will live in it and use it. I am asking myself what the people want and what the space wants.

That mindset extends far beyond the design world. It’s the core of who I am and it’s alarming to see how little of that exists today.

Just as in design of space, there has been a lot of honing people and personalities in the design of life…which I do consistently with the value of quality not quantity.

My Design Style or Life Style

I’ll be honest.

I’ll share my whys, there’s always more than one.

I’ll advocate for what’s best for you and the end users, which is always what’s best for the project.

I’ll show up and with transparency, because I don’t know any other way to be.

I’m committed and dedicated with the best intentions.

I’m real. For that reason, I’m not going to come off “highly professional” because I don’t think you can be both.

You can argue me on that one. I enjoy challenging my thought process.
